DaimlerChrysler a introdus o nouă generație de C-Class in 18 ianuarie 2007 și a prezentat-o în 2007 la Geneva Auto Show. Vânzările au început pe 31 martie 2007, în aproape toate țările europene. Noul vehicul are un ampatament extins, o caroserie mai rigida si un design inspirat de cel mai recent S-Class și câteva elemente de la CLS-Class.

      The most recent of the C-Class, is the third generation (W204) launched in 2007. DaimlerChrysler introduced a new generation of the C-Class on January 18, 2007 and displayed it in the 2007 Geneva Auto Show. Sales started on March 31, 2007 in almost all European countries. The new vehicle has an extended wheelbase and tracks, a stiffer bodyshell and a design inspired by the most recent S-Class and some hints from the CLS-Class.
